A new island football culture
You don't need to be a professional to feel like you're playing in a real Zanzibar league.
This league is being created for the people of Zanzibar: groups of friends, companies, communities, existing teams and anyone who wants the excitement of organised competition infused with the island's energy and identity.
The idea is simple: bring your team, step onto a quality pitch and compete in an environment that feels serious, exciting, professionally managed and unmistakably Zanzibar from matchday one.
More than just matches
Content creators will be present on matchdays to interview players and members of the participating teams before and after games. Videos and photos from the matches will be shared on social media to keep the league alive beyond the pitch.
Players and team members will have the chance to speak, react and represent their club in front of the camera — helping every game create real personalities and memorable storylines.
Key moments, celebrations, saves, goals and memorable scenes will be transformed into shareable content that keeps the league visible beyond the final whistle.
Your face can become one of the protagonists and the soul of the championship — just like in the biggest football leagues in the world.
Not only to play the league — but to be seen, remembered and followed.

Why this will feel different
The goal is to raise the standard of amateur football in Zanzibar — from the pitch to the organisation, the recognition and the way every player experiences the competition.
Structured fixtures, clear communication, rules, matchday coordination and a competition environment that feels professionally managed.
Modern sports centres and quality playing environments designed to make every fixture feel like an event.
Team trophies and individual awards give players more to chase than three points — and more to remember.
Standings, results, top scorers, assists and player recognition will turn the league into something people can follow.
Something to play for
Winning matters. So does individual performance. The league will celebrate the teams and players who make the season unforgettable.
The league trophy will belong to the team that proves itself across the season — and to the players who can say they were there from the very beginning.
For the player who delivers goals when they matter.
Recognition for the player protecting the most difficult position.
For the player whose impact goes beyond one statistic.
Champions and additional team awards will complete the identity of the first season.
Follow the season
The competition will have its own digital space for fixtures, results, standings and player statistics — helping every match create conversation beyond the final whistle.
Know exactly where your team stands.
Your next match is always easy to find.
Individual performance gets recognised.
More ways for players to make their mark.
Participation costs
The competition is designed to stay accessible while protecting organisation, fairness and the quality of every matchday experience.
Every player pays a one-time registration fee, and then a simple matchday fee for each game played during the season.
This one-time amount is the player registration fee. Once the form and fee are received, the tournament organisation can review and approve the player.
The club manager collects the matchday amount from the players and pays the tournament organiser before kick-off on the day of the game.
